Youtube iPlayer links?
Hello all,

I'd like to make an index.html file which has a link to the iPlayer and YouTube apps, is this possible and if so what are the paths to the apps?

Also, I've spent some time today looking in this section and the Wiki for a very simple index.html file for me to start to play with and develop but I can't find one, can someone post a link to a very basic example please?

I've been looking for this too, since it would make for a really simple way of streamlining the user interface. I've found examples of MSP links after a couple of hours of trawling but nothing that shows direct linking to applications themselves.

Bump for any help, or at worst to know it can't be done.

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
Bump.

Anyone know whether this is possible and, ideally, have any URLs to share?

Thanks.

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
I dont think it is because iplayer & youtube are flash apps and unlike the old apps aren't started via a htm page.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if this was going to be possible.

I was hoping that someone who'd done some apps and/or Flash theme development might have an idea.

Have a look at how Accident launches his Flash UI for YAMJ, there may be something or at least a definitive answer there.

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
its possible the problem is the links. the apps them self are located in /opt/syb/usr/popApps/????/ with ???? being a 4 digit number. so you have to locate the app first i think the numbers never change as youtube should be 1006. Give me a few minutes and i will show a way. The way im not sure if works is make an href to file:///opt/syb/usr/popApps/1006/youtube.phf If that doesnt work someone say something and i will give another way.

Request cannot be processed.

I tried it with iPlayer as well using file:///opt/syb/usr/popApps/1079/iBootLoader.swf

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
it will not open a .swf only .phf files. the other way to try is First run it from a pch to see if it loads youtube on the pch as a test if it does you then have to hide the link inside an img tag or something.

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
That didn't work so well either. A white screen full of garbage characters as though it was trying to dump the executable rather than run it.

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
if this is an link from an html page just use:
PHP Code:
<a href=/opt/syb/usr/popApps/1006/youtube.phf>Youtube</a

I didn't look up the url, my guess is 1006 is the version number of the app so that url will probably change as youtube app updates.

Tried that and just got a black screen as though it was trying to launch it but did nothing.

Eject was the only way out, so it does look as though it was trying to launch an application.

RE: Youtube iPlayer links?
Hi,

Sorry for hijacking this thread but what about if i just want to link to the app center instead of directly to an app.

Would one of you have a working link?

I tried many things and searched around a lot and I can't get it to work or find anything that work although i know it's possible from eversion menu for example, just can't figure out the link Sad
