I see it available for purchase via Amazon but it is not in stock. or should i purchase it from the PH site. I see there is something about tariffs now what is the additional price i am expecting to see? and how long does it take to get to me

RE: thinking about ordering a c200
If you order from the pch website it will take about a month as they usually only ship a batch a month sometimes two batches but once its ships you should have it in a few days. I live In CA and from when my order ships i usually get it 2 days later. The US does not charge VAT so all you have to pay is the unit+tax.

RE: thinking about ordering a c200
IIRC they are shipping dhl express worldwide to the USA, which is end of next business day when possible. Factor in the 13ish hour time difference as long as it doesn't get snagged up in customs or plane delays from weather you have a slim but possible chance to see it evening of June 3rd and I have received shipments from syabas that quick

Well I did recieve it on June 3rd and I was shocked as hell that i did get it then I thought i would get it on monday. I started to configure it ran across some problems asked on the board about one issue and I started to look on the forums as to what problems I had as not not open up threads about the same thing.

I am happy with my purchase so far there is a few things that I think would be a little nice to set up on the forums as to help the more non technical person (myself included) is a compiled Q and A section depending on the product. I know it would be alot of work but i think it would help some of us users who are not as technical as others

RE: thinking about ordering a c200
There are recently released manuals, link at the top of the forum or in the support section of the popcornhour.com website. The wiki while it can be harder to find some stuff does cover most of the recent needs. Anyone with a forum login can login and update the wiki so feel free to take on this task of a new user Q&A. I'm sure many will join in.

I would wait to buy a media player until some newer ones come out. The C200 is a old man now and newer players half the price out there can do what the 200 can't.

Problem with your argument is that IMHO nearly everything else (even those released just this year) only can do half what the C200 does.

(Nearly) Everything else is just a single file player (avi, mkv, mp4, etc). The C200 is both a file player and retail BD player with the enviable capability of playing backups of BD only possible with only 2 other products I know off.

A200 connected to 32" Samsung UA32C5000
C200 connected to Denon 1610 AVR and 42" LG 42LH50YR
Encore ENHGS-500 5 port Gigabit switch.

RE: thinking about ordering a c200
well i did do my research in regards to the media devices and this seemed like the best fit for me and what i wanted to do with it.

I have no complaints with it. I started to scan thru the forums and picked up some great tips.

I think that the price of this unit and what i wanted it for was dollar for dollar the best investment i made. I didn't want to spend a small fortune and the ability to attach external drives is huge. I have co workers who have other media centers (home built) who are considering purchasing this unit to replace what they have.

I'm from NJ too, and received mine back in March. I received 3 days after ship .WRT the technical stuff.I fall in the same boat as you.Take your time with it as it took me some time to get all setup.

One of the first problems I encountered with my C-200 was with the firmware. After updating I started to have some issues that i got ironed out in a week or two.But now i have it working the way I want I don't plan on upgrading the firmware anymore as i don't need too.And with the the latest firmware update you can no longer go back to a previous firmware. So I will not update to the new Release. I'm completely thrilled with my purchase as long as I get a few years with it (I highly recommend it) I also have 3 externals HDD's with a total of 4 TB that I run through myihome server it was the easiest for me to do. Best Of Luck with your new machine !Big Grin They play almost any codec. Awesome Machine the C-200 is !!!
