Yes its a good idea to start your own thread. just a quick glance

link 1. hacked divx and packed bitstream could be a bug but its also a bad file

link 2. about everything being fine unless you ff or pause the is almost 100% corrupted riff/header data on the avi nothing the pch can do to fix it. pc gets by cause it re creates the index on the fly anyways,

most avi problems are file specific with something being off, AVI is a crap format and was hacked to bits by everyone, I still use avi files for tv shows and never have a problem myself
