Well I have had some success.
I upgraded to version 8 of movie collector, and the export would stop not even half way through. Tried a variety of things that did not work.
I finally gave safe mode a go again but this time I checked what was running in the task manager and I noticed a process for microsoft security essentials still there so I ended the process. Finally the export worked!!!!
I had tried save mode before but I cant remember which version of Movie Collector was running.
I have a few more exports to do later so I will see if it was security essentials running that was stopping it or it just safe mode.

gsbaker - in terms of the databases available I recall seeing several Amazon sites, IMDB, Collectorz DB and TV DB. There may be one or two others but I am at work and don't have access the software. I'll update if I find more when I get home. Above is a checkbox to include movie trailers. I suppose it is possible that the databases are for trailers only, it is not clear.
