Picture thumbnails and internal HDD
Hy guys,

Just bought an Egreat last week and I really like it. I got everthing working: SMB, torrent, FTP, MyIhome, jjuliens moviejukebox, etc., many thanks to you guys on this forum Big Grin

What I can't seem to find is a decend picture viewer with thumbnails. I tried MyIhome, that works with NAS, but I have an internal HDD so what I would really like is some sort of MyIhome program installed locally on the NMT for viewing pictures on the internal HDD, or any program for that matter.

Same goes for my music stored on the NMT.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Edwin.

I don't think theres anything really to do that program wise...

But i've been able to alter Legion's templates to have all my photos and music listed with thumbnails and playlists in the movie jutebox...

Excal, thanks for the reply.

I tried the photos first and it works, but do I have to add all my pictures one by one for every webpage? That's a lot of work because I have around a thousand photos on the NMT. Is there a way to scan for photos in a folder and just let MOC automatically add these to a webpage?

You would be better off looking into the other Movie Jukebox project called Yet Another MJ.

Although they only do movies, you might get something to work for the
photos if you try it out.

I use a free program which produces nice web pages from your pictures automatically and very quickly, including index pages and thumbnails and slides (though can link to your original images if you require).

Did a test last night with few images, copied the output into the Photos folder of the PCH, then loaded the primary page (index.htm). All pages and images displayed perfectly - and much faster than PCH does when just browsing images directly from the Photos folder.

Program I used is JAlbum, I'm sure there are plenty of others (free or paid) that would do the same thing.

Maybe this is best solution as long you dont mind creating the pages/thumbails in advance - at least until PCH firmware is able to do this on the fly.

Well...if you wanna go the jutebox route....2 things...

I'm sure jjulien's is gonna be compatible eventually...as to how to make his work now...i have no clue..lol

But A newer version of Legion's jute box is coming out that has the code for photo support built-in. So i'd check that out.

2nd....

what i do is use this program i had my friend develope....it creates slideshow files automaticly from what ever directory you scan.

here's a link and description of the slideshow generator...

http://www.networkedmediatank.com/viewtopic.php?t=5461

Then in movie collector i just add a link to each Slideshow file i created... then i don't have to add each photo individually if i don't want to...

However, with that said...that JAlbum thing sounds VERY cool...i'm gonna check that out myself...lol
