[YAMJ 2.5-r2615] TV Extras missing

Well I didn't like all the info missing from IMDB, so I went back (forward?) to YAMJ 2.51. As per accident's suggestion I renamed my TV Extras in the S00E## format.

Now they all appear, as expected, as a separate season...



...at the beginning of the series. The "Specials" poster is also used as the set master. I'll see if I can fix that with a set poster like I do for movies.
I also miss having the TV extras included with the season they were originally a part of. Now all the extras for all seasons will be under the "Specials" season.

Lastly...



...what's listed at theTVdb does not correlate at all with what is included as extras on the DVD Box Set. As expected, what's on TBdb's web site is what was broadcast. according to theTVdb there was no "Episode 5" extra, hence the name, and if I hover over Specials "Episode 1" I get the wrong info. That is, the first "Special" on the DVD is not the first special that aired.

I'll see what tweaking I can do to get things as I want them.

You can sort extras to the end of the set with a property switch, I forget the name of it, but it should be in the wiki

Well, that "mjb.sets.specialsAtEnd=true" variable didn't work, even after deleting my Jukebox folder. That's OK, though, as I've sorted out my dilemma, mostly.

To get (most) of what I want I have had to...

• Rename all my specials as per the YAMJ standard. (S00Exx)
• Create a S00E01.nfo file (see below) to populate the plot info for the specials.
• Create S00Exx.videoimage.jpg file for each "Special" and copy over to the Jukebox folder.

Funny thing about the images; initially I created the nfo file I saw that YAMJ made episode plot thumbnails that matched theTVdb specials (duh). Said thumbnails didn't match the DVD specials, of course. Searching the Jukebox folder got me the name of the images, so I created an image per DVD special in the folder where the series resides. I re-ran YAMJ, only to find out the program copied the thumbnail for the first special and duplicated it for all the rest. In the interim I just copied the plot thumbnails to the Jukebox folder. I haven't tried deleting the Jukebox folder and running it again, yet. I might. If that doesn't work I'll just change the thumbnails in the Jukebox folder to read-only. (And make a note of that if I have to blow the Jukebox away in the future.)

Yes, it sounds like a lot of work, but I do watch my TV specials often, and this way they are just as easy to browse as the movie collection.

If YAMJ is overwriting the video images, then that's a bug. it should use what you specified.

Please log an issue and describe the setup exactly with filenames and examples

Will do. Let me blow away the jukebox, double-check my settings, and re-run YAMJ to see if I can duplicate the error.

I've yet to update my YAMJ but also found the mjvb.sets.specialsAtEnd didn't have the desired effect. Instead I use the <set order=x> notation in the nfo.

Thanks to Accident for letting us know it's industry standard to name TV extras S00Exx. I don't like it because a) you lose the relationship of extra to season and b) i've noticed some shows have had the extras changed. I'm in the process of renaming but use the naming:
<tv show>.S00Exx - Sxx <extra name>.ext
Where Sxx is the original season number. The system works well for single season tv (band of brothers) but imagine the number of specials for a long running soap. I don't like it but I'll get over it!

Well depends on the skin, eversion not only has the relationship but will put the extra exactly where it should be viewed in the season list.

Yeah but only if the extras are in thetvdb with an air date. I'd add my own info if the site was a little faster, it's been painful renaming my extras over the past week or two.

Will eversion run ok on the A200? I gave up with NMJ because the interface was too slow.

There's been a lot of htpc releases the last couple weeks.. thetvdb being a free to use data sight that's popular and it takes a beating.. hopefully it'll get better soon.

It can be tuned around to your liking.. It's not going to be blazing fast but very usable.. legion's all in three thread has premade jukeboxes you can download and test, nothing to setup to try it out.. I think there's a few different setups with different eskins and mods.. probably the easiest way to look at it.

Ditto. I'll try eversion (again).

BTW I wiped the jukebox and, like ABNS noted, it didn't work. I'll try the <set order = x> line.

I, too, have a ton of specials to rename.

The problem with theTVdb S00 is it's designed for TV series special episodes not dvd extra's.
There are an awful lot of extras that aren't listed under this section, which seems like a pretty big work around adding custom episode info for each episode.
