It's roughly what you have now with many of the physical bugs fixed.

RE: Syabas at IFA 2011 Berlin
fucking lol at them showing scene release filenames

that looks pretty amazing though I have to admit, exactly what nmj should have been.. £100~ for something that looks better than my £200+ A210? Hmmm

Don't you get bored of the constant digs.Rolleyes

Who says that NMJv2 wont be better. Who says that we wont get a new ui? We have been told that the 200 series will get both.
The scene names only appear when it searches for subtitles online, it has nothing to do with Syabas.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI

I'm very interested from where the Popbox is fetching the subtitles.

I am quite disappointed that it only has 256MB DRAM that's quite a physical step backwards.

RE: Syabas at IFA 2011 Berlin
why put more when it doesn't need more, also price was important, again this is not a nmt, this has no gaya running, or any servers eating memory and it use a differnt sdk which use less memory then the one from 8643, so 256Mb is enough.

Regards,
Werner

RE: Syabas at IFA 2011 Berlin
Looks like they went with the same design as the SageTV HD300. One thing missing that the SageTV HD300 has is an IR Extender. That chassis is perfect for mounting behind a TV for out of sight operation.

Also, is there any indication of what this brings above the current Popbox? Obviously an upgraded Sigma chip, but aside from that? Will the UI presented only be available for the v8 and not the original Popbox. Anything else, certification for Netflix, Vudu, Amazon VOD, etc..., ability to pull in live tv feeds from networked tuners...? Unfortunately no HDMI 1.4 Sad

Cheers,
Damian

I am sure with the native Syabas apps things will be fine, I will wait and hope that other apps like mine will work. My opinion is you can't promote apps as as feature and downplay memory requirement on the same box. It is 2011 and even on a smartphone you wouldn't consider 256MB if you want to run more than an average number of apps.

RE: Syabas at IFA 2011 Berlin
the sigma sdk uses up almost 300M of memory. Flash puts all images in memory as a bitmap. 512 is really the minimum for flash based interfaces on a sigma chipset.

RE: Syabas at IFA 2011 Berlin
as i said acc the sdk used for 8671 is not the same as current one, we have enough memory with 256 MB, the sdk from 864x use much more memory so on 864x platform you for sure need 512MB, for 8671 you need only 256MB, there is also no issues with the apps i tried from our apps store because the hole system use less.

Werner
