Cloud Storage and A110

I am running out of space on my internal hard drive (1tb) and have been looking at different solutions. One of which is cloud storage. 5tb for 15.00GBP per month seems to be the going rate. Has anyone any experience of using cloud storage instead of internal drives? Look forward to hearing from you.

I have no expierence with it but you have too watch for the following

cloud storage is placed on the internet which means

A - lots of data traffic too the and from the internet (if you have bandwith limited account you can have issues here)
B - Your downstream from the internet should be big enough too keep sending the data too you. (if you put on your torrents for linux it is possible that you can no longer watch your video flawless)
C - you need too have CIFS or NFS access so somehow you should make sure the internet storage is seem as this too the device. (ie use a linux machine in between if it is not supported by the cloud storage)
D - Latency on the internet is higher then local storage so it can take longer too load video's / sounds , move within video's/ sounds
E - No internet means nothing too play from if you have only the cloud storage.
F - On a cloud storage it is possible the other people are checking your video's.....


i can not think of more points what is diffeent then the local storage.

15 GBP per month for what exactly?
- only storage
15 Pfund Sterling = 17,1975652 Euro

1 x DNS-323 ~ 40-50 EUR on eBay ~ 45GBP
2 x 2TB HD ~ 160 EUR on eBay or local store ~ 140GBP
~200 - 210 EUR ~ 185 GBP once for 4TB in a NAS

15 GBP x 12 month = 180 GBP per year for 5TB in the cloud

I would prefer a NAS.
