DVD to NAS to Movie Collectorz

Hi sorry to bother you. My brother has purchased Movie Collectorz and hand scanner. He's got a WD 8tb nas drive and he wants ME to load all his dvds and Blue Rays onto it. Is it possible for you to answer some questions and point me in the right direction? He also has a popcorn A110 he says the gui is NOT very good? My main issue is getting all his DVD's on to the nas, nameing them correctly then linking with Movie Collectorz (for the titles etc). His main purpose is to be able to use macs, PC and various TV's throughout his home to watch his films all over the house from his router.

I need something that’s IDIOT PROOF as im not that technical, (I reckon you have probably guessed that) again my main thing is getting all his films on a nas drive with ease and the right format and movie files and sound files

1. what is the best dvd / Blue Ray ripper to get?
2. And the easiest one to use
3. I would like to pay for one so I get the back-up /support
4. He would like to be able cut out the credits, trailers etc
5. He would like the best picture and sound possible
6. Something that will support Blue Ray and Hi Def (1080p)
7. Which format is the best for Mac and PC that will work together?
8. Or what is the proper movie and sound file to use
