thinking about a universal remote

if i get a harmony remote will it work flawlessly with my a-110.. i checked the database on logitechs site and its listed there

is it simple to setup?

im looking at this one Logitech - Harmony 700

A harmony remote is never "easy" to set up, it takes a bit of tweaking to get everything just right but when its done it will basically become an extension of your body .

Get all your manufacture names and model numbers ready.
Know what is connected to what imput.
Keep in mind that you must keep the remots pointed at everything while its doing the sequence, one miss fire and it can mess up the sequence. the "Help" button can set it straight on one push but only with inputs, if it didnt turn the device on then it takes a couple of pushes.


Take note that the Harmony 700, all the buttons on the side and above the screen does not light up.

Now when its setup with the pc how do use such features as deleting a file or moving files back and forth cause obivously it doesnt have these buttons labeled the same as the pch

Hi,

The Logitech software that comes with the harmony remote let's you map the existing buttons/functions to the buttons on your harmony.
I myself use the Harmony 870 and i mapped most of the function to the buttons that match, anything specific i have added to a button on the display menu. (Don't know if the 700 can do this, but the 870 can map 8 functions to the screen buttons with a max of 8 pages (so 64 buttons in total)).

On the 700 you can map buttons and sequences to the 4 buttons located on the sides of the screen and you can have many pages mapped to those buttons.

I myself have reboot, shutdown, audio, subtitles, title, filemode, etc mapped to those buttons.
