What a disaster!

i received my brand new A-300 this morning, but over 4/5 hours spend to initialize the PH, i seriously thinking to return it to the Syabas.

The network interface not function at all. The first time that power on the A-300, the ethernet led start to blimp (both), then suddenly turn off. Obviously i test the lan cable, with other equipment and all is function properly.
Try another lan cable, same result. The startup wizard does not go beyond the connection attempt and prompt with "No Internet Connection".

Considering that the product was sent on October 28, i must update the firmware with the one reported here?
Can i use an USB Pen to accomplish that?
How can control watch firmware version have on my A-300?
ok i solve this on the Maintenance menu i read
Firmware Version 05-110921-23-POP-421-094
Kernel Version: 23-POP
NMT Version:--------- (are not installed?!?)
Any tips will be appreciated.

You can download the firmware and update from USB. The link is at page 1.

Start your own thread in this section so we can try to find out why you are having a problem.

Not using WiFi are you?

You need to install the NMT Apps to have a version show. Have you tried using USB to update, that way you dont require internet to update and the firmware update may have a fix.

hi guys! i'm new with Popcorn hour, my A-300 has arrived today, and i am about to go crazy! i can't make my win7 64 recognize the HDD (2TB) i don't know what do more...
i plug the PH to my pc with the blue cable (is the only cable i could connect) i used the program Ext2Fsd and nothing happen, i just can't make it start...
anyone could help me? please!

Are you conectiong your A-300 through a switch or a router? If you are conecting directly to your computer you need a crossover cable and not a pacth cable. The wiring is diferent in the cables.

The USB cable should work fine. I'm just setting mine up and will be attaching it to the PC as soon as the hdd formats.

I'm having the same problem trying to play BD 1:1 ISO files from my network. I have the 200 and 300 connected. The 200 plays them fine the 300 stutters and looses sound in the menu and then in the movie. I've tried Auto and 10/100 setting with no luck.

I have the latest FW installed. That's another issue, when the FW installed it said rebooting but never did. When I install the app they finish and the screen goes black. I have to unplug it in both situations. Getting somewhat dissapointed so far with the new 300.

Transferring files gets around 7mbs, not a whole lot better than the 200. At least with the 200 I could easily pop out the drive and connect it to the pc to transfer files.

So far USB transfers hasn't worked at all.

- I got mine to connect. Here is what I did.
- Put the drive in the PCH, 2tb
- Format and install the apps to the hard drive.
- Once finished, I took the drive out and connected it to my PC. Under My Computer, Manage, I open it up and found the drive with all the partitions.
- I deleted the last partition (the largest), this is where the movies go. I made a new partition 20gb less than the total, formatted it NTFS, this will leave an 20gb empty partition in case I want to format it for CSI later.
- Put the drive in the PCH. Connect the USB to the PC and "then" turn on the PCH. If the PCH is running it won't install and find the drive correctly.
- Now I can copy movies over to the drive in the PCH via USB.

I don't know if this is typical, but it is working for me. I don't want to fool around with ext3 partitions for media.

It's currently copying about 21mbps. Better than the 7-10 I get over the network.

Now I have to figure out why it is stuttering playing some BR on the network. Avatar Extended Edition ISO is very bad. Plus this edition won't play correctly using the Simple Play.
