Hi guys, I have 2 questions that hopefully someone can answer and help.
Q1. I read on the thread that it is recommended to install oversight after installing NZBget, is this true? Why is that? Reason for asking was because I bought my A210 a few weeks ago and installed Oversight on it. I have all the movies and series info scraped and everything working fine. I also installed sickbeard and couchpotato on my A210 so that I won't missed any episodes or movies when I'm not home. But then I realize that I do not have NZBget so it means NO automatic downloads for me when I got back home later. So, if I install NZBget now, should I reinstall Oversight? Q2. Where can I find a guide on how to use NZB? Are they free? Do I need to maintain ratios like such in torrents? As for torrents, if sickbeard found a torrents, will it automatically downloads them? Many thanks.

Q1 - yes I think you do have to install Oversight AFTER NZBget - I think NZBget installs a script into Oversight but I might be wrong. But to be honest I really wouldnt worry - do a new install after you've installed NZBget and then rescan.. it's really quick. HOWEVER, if you do wait a little while for someone else to reply OR do a seach I am sure you can save the DB file and then put it back in after the reinstall. Q2 - Not sure you'll get any help on that.. it can tip over into talking about things not allowed on the site. BUT... to answer your exact questions .. No it's not exactly free because you need to pay for a newshost like Astra (monthly charge or buy a block of data).. actually some newsgroups are free if you want very short history . ie) you only want to d/l a file a few days old rather than 500+ days old No you don't need to upload.. that the beauty of it! Not sure about SB and Torrents Hope that helps... go have a read up on Newsgroups and NZBs and you wont go back to torrents

RE: NZBget & Oversight..conflict?
@Atinkler, thanks. So I'll just install NZBget and then reinstall Oversight and have it rescan my movies again. I think I'll just make a copy of my existing info and later paste them again.
About Q2, I think I will need to read more on NZB as to be honest I have no idea how it works.

RE: NZBget & Oversight..conflict?
The short of it, is that movies and episodes are chopped into pieces and uploaded to newsgroups.
Newsgroups are like special folders on servers (news-servers). The uploader usually groups the pieces by making it possible to download a single file: the nzb.file. This is not much unlike a .torrent file, if the movie or files are rarred. The easy thing of a nzb and the PCH is that you can save the nzb-file to the Watch-folder of NZBget, and nzbget starts downloading from that point on. Now as to "Is it free". That depends, like Atinkler said. In my country most internet service providers, have their own newsservers which synchronize the newsgroups with the internet. The access to the ISP newsserver is free, but usually limited as to how old a file can be and/or how fast you can download. The limitations are the reasons why people tend to use a payserver (payed newsserver). This is a dedicated news-service provider, which allows different price rates, speeds etc. Now how to find NZB's? You can browse the nzb-index sites like http://www.binsearch.info, nzbindex.nl and others. But that can be difficult since not al videos will be named appropriately. There are also sites like NZB.su where you can register. These type of sites index uploaded videos by name (maybe more stuff) and you can download the NZB from there. My best advice is to still find a site in your own language that explains and discusses the matter. It may sound difficult but it really isn't To answer your first question: Oversight has its own script which will be placed in the NZBget configuration. But this can only be done automatically when you install Oversight after NZBget. Good luck! RE: NZBget & Oversight..conflict?
Is it allowed to ask which nzb site you're using and also to ask for a recommended site?
Also, if I registered as premium on nzb sites such as newzbin.com or nzbmatrix, do I still need usenet server? Thanks for your help

NZB.su, http://www.merlins-portal.net, nzbmatrix.com, newzbin.com are sites you can browse and register at. The first two are fully usable with a free registration (as far as I can recall). Binsearch you can use to browse for when you just want to try a search (with the benefit that it shows password protected files.) If you want to learn more about NZB downloading (which is advisable) this is a great English site: http://www.binaries4all.com/ The main difference between torrent downloading and nzb/usenet downloading is the fact that you always have to use usenetservers. It doesn't matter how you register at a site. Simply said: If you want to download from usenet you need to use usenetservers PCH-A100 (FW 01-17-100317-15-POP-402-000) (00-17-091216-15-POP-402 NMT Apps) Philips 28PW9611/01 PAL SD, connected with Composite Old skool

RE: NZBget & Oversight..conflict?
Oversight has a setting to fix it if you installed NZBget after Oversight (for example for NZBget updates)
It can be found in Oversight Admin > {reset} > {reinstall} > and click the button. This makes sure Oversight is the NZBget postprocessing script. My PCH-A110 Stats | Samsung LE32A656 | Logitech Z-2300 | Harmony One Oversight | |
