RE: [ Transmission CSI ] v2.71-dath1 (21 October 2012)
I run into this with nzbget, i solved it via using telnet and have added it to the WIKI. Read the WIKI telnet page about how to use chmod -R 777. That makes the folders writeable for the client assuming its running in root.

Quote:Permissions - Read Only (RO) & Read and Write (RW) Access

Sometimes when formatting or if the internal storage runs into problems the device will make the location Read Only.

You need to change the permissions back to 777 or Write and Read.
Quite simple on Mac.
Open: Terminal.app
Type: telnet IPofYourNMT press 'enter'
then type: chmod -R 777 folder or location name press 'enter'

On a Windows PC access your NMT using Putty or CMD window
Type: telnet IPofYourNMT
then Type: chmod -R 777 folder or location name then press 'enter'
folder or location name can be exactly that, a folder or even a drive name.
-R means recursive, so be careful as all files and folders within the location will have their permissions changed.

For example if you have formatted a SSD to EXT and then find that it has become Read Only: chmod -R 777 ssd (where ssd is the name you gave to the SSD when formatting)

Connected Storage

To see the devices you have connected and how much of their capacity has ben used you can use Telnet:

Type: telnet IPofYourNMT press 'enter'
type: df -h

Look for the line with T in the amounts (TBs). It will show you total size, used space and available space of the mount. Your hdd will be /dev/sda* where star will be 1,2 or 3 depending on if you have your nmt installation on that drive or not. The numbers are the partitions on the drive. If you have nmt installed on the harddrive, your media partition will most likely be /dev/sda3 but as I said before it will be the one with the largest size.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

RE: [ Transmission CSI ] v2.71-dath1 (21 October 2012)
It was all related to drive letter ...and naming

QUESTION:

Ive got a list of trackers all showing seeds and peers but transmission does not announce to all but one of them, each at a time?
i mean, Transmission does not support multi tracker download (to enhance download speeds) ?

The inability to configure and USE an NMT should not always be disguised as a fault in the setup. Cause you know...sometimes, it's really a machine's PROBLEM !

/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/USB_DRIVE_84307FF8307FF012-1/USB_DRIVE_B-1

as the download folder works!

Wierd! since i gave a label (usb-1) to it! Any explanation?
I prefer to answer via this thread as then the answer may benefit more.

I don't know how the USB labeling works, but from the directory listing it is clear that the path you used does not exist. This path probably also works "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/USB_DRIVE_B-1".

This is already a Transmission feature request. It's according to that page implemented in 1.80. So you'll have to wait for that to be released and me to package it for the NMT.

RE: [ Transmission CSI ] v2.71-dath1 (21 October 2012)
I went out and brought a brand new A-400 thinking that my 3.5yr old C-200 was broken. It turns out my A-400 is exhibiting the exact same issues - and it only happens when I run Transmission.

I've tried limiting speed, disabling the peer-exchange mechanisms, and uTP... still no Joy. My A-400 now crashes (HARD crash, have to power cycle it) every 12 hours or so.

Is anything being investigated/done on this, because clearly it is a bug with the build and it must be affecting more than just me.
