Which Wifi dongle for A-110?

I want to place our PCH A-110 in our bedroom. There we only want to watch series and children movies. No HD movies, because those we still watch donwstairs. Since I don't want to use cables, I want to buy a wifi-dongle. But the WN-100 is not available anymore. Can we use the WN-150? Or is there another solution?

No you can't use the WN-150. It's Realtek chip based and the WN-100 is Atheros.

You can buy the WN100 if you search around:

There are other Atheros chip USB dongles that do work. They are advertised as compatible with the A110 though. Seen them at Pixmania and other EU sites.

Personaly a secondhand router or wireless access point that then gives an ethernet connection rather than USB connection is the way to go if you must use WiFi

You could - but you'll need to put it into repeater mode if it has one otherwise you'll hit issues with the Internet router you are using.
I've re-used an old netgear dg834n as a repeater for my PCH-A210 in the bedroom and sent the network to it using some 200Mb Power Over Ethernet plugs which gives enough bandwidth to stream from the PCH-A110 downstairs (or send stuff to it - works either way...).

Failing wanting to invest in POE, I originally bought a TP-Link TL-WN821N (currently on Amazon UK for £11.22 with free shipping - >here < ) back when I had the house on wireless. It worked fine with the PCH-A110, but did occasionally stutter with higher bitrate stuff.

NB: Depending on your firmware release you may need to re-apply the IP address after power cycling as you'll want a fixed IP to be able to consistently find it for copying/reading etc.
This may now be fixed but wasn't at the time I was using it, so it dropped the address every time - hopefully fixed, but at least now you know if it isn't!
