usb......
hi guys,
i have 3 popcorns, and im looking at installing a nas to stream the movies over my wired network. Just recieved my 3rd today with no harddrive in, tryed to connect it up and set a share folder on it, realised i cant save it without a hard drive in and wondered if its possible to save apps and settings to a usb so i dont need hard drives in them fullstop. thanks in advance. Tim. |

RE: usb......
You dont need a drive, to add a share or install apps from the app market. So maybe explain better what you are trying to do

RE: usb......
i have a c200 in the living room and a a110 in the bedroom. these both have hard drives in them.
I just got the 3rd is a a100 for my daughters room, just recieved it today off ebay with no hdd. at the moment i have my other 2 pops connected to each other over samba, and my downloads drive of my pc. I just hooked up the a100 to check it was working and the share didnt save, (however now just thinking about it i didnt install any apps or start samba) ha ha what a idiot i am. so is it possible for me to run all 3 popcorns off a nas without having a usb or hdd in any of them ????? cheers Tim. |

RE: usb......
Life halfelite say you do not need a HDD to access the other 2 Popcorns. They wont be able to access the new one as unlike the old ones it does not have a HDD and the NMT Apps installed, thereby allowing it to serve or share its content with the others. It has no content though as it has no HDD.
So you should be able to browse to either of the other two via Network Browsing. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |
