Unable to see any network shares (win7)
First off, my A-210 arrived today from Germany after waiting excitedly for 3 weeks
I connected it to my TV and then to my gigabit switch via CAT6 cable and turned it on. I expected to be able to simply browse to the network tab and for it to pick up all my windows shares (same as when i use XBMC) However, the only option i get is NFS Server, it won't pick up the WORKGROUP at all. I've set up pretty complex networks before, but i am absolutely baffled as to why this won't see any network shares on my server (which other media servers in the house see fine) I've tried disabling the windows firewall on the server to no avail, i can ping the popcorn a-210 etc If i can't get this working (after spending 4 hours on it tonight) it will be getting returned to Germany and having some "honest" feedback put on Amazon Please can anyone give me some advice, i've followed every single PCH networking help / guide i can find to no avail The process of adding network shares seems to be extremely clunky, and having to type in these long addresses using the remote makes me want to murder someone! Thanks |

RE: Unable to see any network shares (win7)
Well, after 7 hours of messing about with it, trawling through forums and trying everything under the sun, i'm sending it back for a refund and going with a Boxee or a Llano HTPC. Won't be buying Popcorn again.

RE: Unable to see any network shares (win7)
u sure u set the workgroup correct inside the PCH first ?
when i set a different workgroup in the PCH, my windows shares dissapear also. When they match the same workgroup, and i use the browse function, i can open and see what my shares are. i have a A200 though, but it works fine with networking and also windows 7 + anonymous shares = evil. Try to read here http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...work_Share and http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...h_Windows7 Windows 7 so called networking has this homegroup shit sharing, u can read all about it above. |

RE: Unable to see any network shares (win7)
Cheers guys but the workgroup was set the same. I bought a Boxee, connected it to my network, picked up all my shares right away
Plays 40GB+ MKVs without any issue, superb piece of kit. Cheers anyway |
