Is there a DTS - > AC3 converter for Mac OSX?
Thinking of buying a new laptop soon and I was considering going with my 1st ever Apple. Are there any tools to convert DTS to AC3 for OSX?
I know, worst case I can just boot WinXP or emulate. |

Are there any tools? Yes. Yes there are.
Are there any pretty graphical tools? I'm not sure. It seems as though VLC may be able to do it (but you'd have to double-check). Seems a worthy question: any quick and painless GUI-type tools for the average noob to transcode amongst containers and codecs for OS X? |

Mac OS X audio transcode apps
The Mac OS native app list is mighty thin ATM.
There are plenty of UNIX CLI apps & filters that work fine in Leopard but a familiarity with the Terminal app is a must. FWIW, I've been using HeartWare's AudioConverter via WinXP Pro in VMware Fusion and/or directly from Boot Camp. Either way the app works flawlessly and does exactly what those of us w/o A/V receivers need. HTH m |
