After following the awesome instructions from Missilehugger I have got this working without any major pain. It had some bumps but I got through them.

I pointed the installation to my movies folder, does eversion handle tv series as well,

Should I change the path to video root which has TV and movies below?

Eversion handles TV as well as any other skin. There are certainly the same number of layouts as the HTML skins.

It's up to you if you want TV and Films in the same jukebox

Always wished for something like this! Will save me a lot of time. However, is this possible to be done from a macbook rather then a windows machine? My Nas is a Synology 1411+. Mac instructions would really be helpful.

Can what be done from a Mac? It's all done on the synology, did you even read the link?!?

Ah sorry mate didnt realise the installation takes place through terminal I initially thought you had to do it through windows for some reason!

I had a quick peak at it before but at work so didn't read through it yet. Will be doing that soon though definitely!

BTW how can i tell which java version i need to install? ie. if my NAS is a ATOM or ARM architecture. My NAS is a Synology 1511+, i just had a a look at my online manual and it doesn't mention anything!

On the missle hugger site he also has a java install. I would just use that (there's also a mediainfo install too)

But I think it's and atom processor

I just did the install through the automatic installer.

However, one thing i cant seem to recall is that when doing the yamj install it asks you for directories:

Video Scan Directory: i used my folder where all my videos are stored

Output Directory: i used the same one as where the html/xml files were being copied before, when i used to run yamj from my macbook. Basically, the folder where my index.html is stored!

Player Path (The output preset): now this is the one i cant seem to recall. Is this where my pch is located on the home network? ie. the IP address of my PCH ?

please let me know if all the above sounds right then i can give it a go!

On a side note, does the NAS not have a in built terminal to use? Ive enabled the SSH in settings, but i cant find the app to launch the terminal window anywhere on my NAS? or does this need to be accessed via my macbook?

If you have a pre-exisitng YAMJ install, copy the player path from that. It'll still work.

The NAS doesn't have a terminal window, you'll have to access it from your Mac with a terminal emulator. I use PuTTY on windows, but I should think there's an equivalent on the mac

OK thanks, i installed it. Then Ran YAMJ from the icon and all its giving me is a white window with nothing loading inside it?!? Is that what is supposed to happen until it finished scanning. Ive been on this for 20mins now, plus i checked in the ouput directory and its created the folders but there is no xml/html files inside it.

I feel that i might have made a mistake somewhere, or that yamj failed somewhere but i cant see the error unless i ssh with terminal right?

Also i need to install my custom skin and also change the library.xml and genre files etc... Im assuming i can only do this through SSH terminal?

XML files aren't written until the end. You should get JPG and PNG images though.

Remember that it'll be slower on the NAS than the Mac.

Let it finish, then work through the issues.

hmm...

it took about two hours and then said page not found on the window.

I think there maybe a mistake somewhere in paths etc.. i used a single one for testing but in my actual library.xml i have multiple paths for videos etc..

I think the best bet would be to ssh in and replace the files i need to from my current yamj folder.

I am accessing my nas through work internet at the moment so dont think i can ssh from here, will have to wait until i get home and then try it i guess!

One thing though, when YAMj finishes running, what should happen to the empty white window? Does it display anything or close down automatically once finished scanning and creating docs?

No idea. I would assume that it closes.

I don't use the YAMJ package as I have a preconfigured setup, but I remember there being an "all done" message in one of the prototypes. I'dcheck the blog and see

Hi again,

Spent a good few hours on setting this up today - however I'm running into a few issues. Maybe you can help with?

When i run the script file for YAMJ - I'm running it through SSH, there is two things going wrong. Firstly its saying in the log that media info can not be found, even though I've installed it through the interface. Its not to be found in the YAMj folder though?!?

MediaInfoScanner: Couldn't find CLI mediaInfo executable tool: Video file data won't be extracted

Infact there is no media info folder in the YAMJ directory!

Secondly log is showing this:

Scanning library directory /volume1/@appstore/YAMJ/library.xml

Which is incorrect and i have no idea where this is coming from or how i can change it! @appstore shouldn't be there!
Because of this I'm also getting multiple lines saying similar to this:

Copying directory studios (83/1190)FileTools: The specified /volume1/@appstore/YAMJ/./skins/default/html/pictures/studios/Arte France Cinc????ma.png file does not exist!

Copying directory studios (84/1190)FileTools: The specified /volume1/@appstore/YAMJ/./skins/default/html/pictures/studios/Arte France Cine??c??ma.png file does not exist!

Copying directory studios (85/1190)FileTools: The specified /volume1/@appstore/YAMJ/./skins/default/html/pictures/studios/Arte France Cingc??u??ma.png file does not exist!
