Ok, reading over that list again (been a while)
I see you've verified the 2TB WD elements drive to be functional.

However I see no mention of a 3TB WD on the list. :/

Yep, I know how crappy the FW for the WD devices can be. I've done a lot of rollbacks trying to get things working hahaha. If I had the HUB with the user themes I would probably be less likely to get another media player, but I have the SMP so I can't utilize those themes.

As for the NMT hardware compatibility list - I was under the impression that the list was for internal drives only. I'll have to check it out again to see If I'm not mistaken.

Why are you so certain my WD 3TB's would work?
Unfortunately I'm not interested in getting a network share of some sort set up to get my HD's working. They would need to be able to plug into the A-300 and work direct. And I find it very odd that your Seagate will not work plugged in via USB - yet others are having no issue with the Seagate drives......? Strange.

My Seagate was/is HFS+ formatted so that may be the problem when combined with it being 3TB

I have used HFS+ with the A300 no problem but that was a 650gb hdd.

If your WD's are NFTS and have no manufacturers software on them I *think* you'll be fine

I saw a post from Syabas saying they had successfully tried 4 and 6tb usb drives

Yeah, I'll make a post on the 300 hardware thead.

The drives are factory formatted. I haven't done a reformat. There is software on them, but I do not use/have not installed.

I don't have the drives here with me, but I assume the default factory format is NTFS.
