myiHome 5.2 Issue (server will not start)
Symptom
It appears that starting with myiHome version 5.1.4, if installed on certain computers without a prior version of myiHome installed, you would get a continuous hourglass for the mouse when you try to configure. The reason "myihome.exe" does not let your configure is because "myihome-server.exe" will start-up briefly and shut down. If you examine processes in the Task Manager you will see this occurring whenever you start myiHome. Workaround If you install 5.1.3 then all is good. Now install 5.2, which will uninstall 5.1.3, and now 5.2 will work. It appears that 5.1.3 sets some configuration that was removed from 5.1.4 on-wards. During my research, I have seen this issue reported many times. I am hoping the programmers will add this as a bug fix for the next release. I am using an HP Thin client with XP sp3. |

I will break the news but the ps version of myihome is pretty much legacy software now, none of the current gen models of pch products even support using it.

I am still on A100 and A110. What is the method for streaming on the newer models? I use myiHome because it had better performance than SMB share although I did notice that the SMB has gotten a lot better over the years. I also use it for the jukebox feature. I still see myiHome available for download at the PCH web site. |

most use samba or nfs, Samba performance is pretty much almost on par with http like myihome was with the A100/110 series.
