A-300 slow opening network page
Using my C-200 or A-200 I can use the down key on the network icon in the main menu to see my shares without delay and select the one I want.
With the A-300 that feature is not there anymore so I have to click the Networked Media icon and then wait, sometime up to 40 seconds until I see my shares and the Network Browser. Am I alone with that delay as I havn't read anyone complaining about that? anyone has a hint on what the nmt might be doing during that delay? I'm on fixed IP, sharing on 2 Synology NAS, a MAC and 2 PC (one XP, one Win7). I tried with 10/100 and auto, with wired and wireless with the same results. I also tried a factory reset, and opening the Networked Media right after the reboot gives me the same delay. My firmware is the latest. Thanks for any help. A-110/C-200/A-300/A-400, DS-409 with 4x1Tb, DS-410 with 4x2Tb, Asus RT-N66U. |

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
30-40 second delays are usually a drive waking up somewhere.. chances are if you went into the screen, twice in a row only the first time would be slower.. I agree though I liked the quick access to saved shares the 200 has..

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
I though at first that one off my NAS was in sleep mode but the problem is always there.
Once I see my shares, if I press Home to get back to the menu and Networked Media again, I'm up for another 30-40 seconds. It also happen if I select a share then use the Return button to get back to the shares menu. All my Return are fast except the last one going back to the first Menu. That menu is doing something special and slow with my network configuration but I don't have a clue. I also have a delay on the C-200 if I click on the Network icon but it's 7-10 seconds. (That,s why I'm using the arrow down on the 200) A-110/C-200/A-300/A-400, DS-409 with 4x1Tb, DS-410 with 4x2Tb, Asus RT-N66U. |

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
I doubt it's just 1 slowdown perhaps we can find a few little things that together make it usable.. do you use hostnames or ip addresses for your shares?

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
The delay is there even without a single share. Just the Network Browser line...
For my shares I tried SMB with host name, NFS with IP and NFS-TCP with IP. Thanks A-110/C-200/A-300/A-400, DS-409 with 4x1Tb, DS-410 with 4x2Tb, Asus RT-N66U. |

I called support and they mentioned it being a UPNP issue and that I needed to turn it off on my router if I was not using it. Have not been able to find that setting on my 3801HGV |

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
I turn off uPnP on my router and the issue is unchanged.
I disabled it on my NAS too without change. Thanks for the feedback but no luck so far. If uPnP can cause that kind of delay, it will be great to be able to disable uPnP functions on the A-300 side. A-110/C-200/A-300/A-400, DS-409 with 4x1Tb, DS-410 with 4x2Tb, Asus RT-N66U. |

I still cannot browse my network. All the manually added shares are now locking up and I can not even remote connect to my server when this is happening. If I Unplug my A300 from the network I have remote access back with in 30 seconds. I'm ready to return the A300 since my Sagetv could combine all my network shares into one movie wall. I really only replaced it because sage had trouble with 96khz flacs but the A300 can't play them either and now I cant even keep network access. |

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
It's working fine now, here's what I did:
Powered off my all my wired network connected equipment. Mac, both PC, both NAS, C-200, A-110. Tried the Network page which was opening instantly. Rebooted both NAS. Still no delay and I could acces my NAS shares. Network browsing was not working though. Rebooted my Mac, everything fine, Network browsing still not working. Rebooted Win 7 PC, network browsing working and still no delay. Rebooted Win XP PC and all is fine. Rebooted C-200 and A-110. The delay is gone and A-300 is working great. I'm clueless about the root cause of the problem but I have a feeling it could be related to which PC was rebooted first because of the Network browsing problem. Enough test for tonight, I'll post any new finding. Thanks for the uPnP hint, it gave me an idea it could relate to one of my wired network equipment. RE: A-300 slow opening network page
I am having the same issue as well. The response is dreadful. I am using UPNP on my router (I need it). I rebooted the entire house and nothing works. My c-200,xbox 360, Panasontic TV, Video Cams, Directv HDDVR's all works perfectly. Cables are perfect and tested. Nothing seems to help. I went from NFS /TCP to Samba and that did not help.
Anyone having the problem? Is there a way to turn UPNP off on the C-300 and I don't need it. (If that is the problem) Chris |

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
I have the same issue. Since I got A-300 I am trying to figure out what's wrong with it.
I have a rather simple network environment. There is only an IP-Sharing, a PC, 2 NAS and A-300. It always take up to 40 seconds before A-300 show me the network share. Recently, I found a workaround for this issue. If I turn off the PC (Which is running Windows XP) then A-300 will finish the network share browsing within 3 seconds. That implies that A-300 has problem to communicate with Windows XP. Hopefully the development team can fix this issue in next firmware release. Detaching Windows PC is not a right way but it does bypass the network share problem. |

RE: A-300 slow opening network page
It never came back, everything is working fine without any delay.
I really feel it has to do with the sequence of powering on all my hardware but I'm clueless about the root cause of the problem. Is yours slow even with all your networked hardware powered off? A-110/C-200/A-300/A-400, DS-409 with 4x1Tb, DS-410 with 4x2Tb, Asus RT-N66U. |
