transmission wont upload url
My a-210 wont accept a web url (torrent) via the Transmission web interface so I downloaded the latest 2.5 version and now neither will work at all?

RE: transmission wont upload url
Your post is very short and doesn't tell a whole lot.
Please look at the first post of this thread. It will tell you how to report issues for Transmission in a way that's useful for others to figure out what is wrong. You didn't tell whether your previous Transmission version is a CSI version, but I suspect it is. Your most likely problem is that you didn't uninstall the version through CSI before installing the new version. Try that. You also didn't tell what "will not work at all" means. What are you doing exactly? |

RE: transmission wont upload url
It is the version that came pre-installed with the box. I cant see a revision number or how to uninstall it. It will not upload torrent files or addresses.

RE: transmission wont upload url
Too little information.
"it will not" is not an description that helps anyone. Please be accurate and complete. What are you doing? What steps are you taking? What error messages do you see? You can't and don't need to uninstall the pre-installed transmission. Like I said (and as the linked thread did) that only applies for CSI versions. |

Alternative way to add torrents
I had a similar problem with my pch-a210 with standard btorrent.
I found out, what I can do: Download or copy a .torrent file to my folder on the nmt media harddrive (internal or usb), that I called "torrentfolder" at command prompt of my pc, type Code: telnet pch-a210Connected with telnet, type after the "#" Code: # find -name *transmission*Code: # /nmt/apps/bin/transmission-remote --helpHere I read how to add a torrent. Code: # /nmt/apps/bin/transmission-remote -a /share/torrentfolder/torrentfile.torrentTo see progress of the torrents downloading: Code: # /nmt/apps/bin/transmission-remote -lAt https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki I could also read how to edit the configuration file /share/.transmission/settings.json, but did not succeed yet to get a watch directory working, where torrent files can be placed to be automatically added. Good luck. Configuration 2012 aug 15: PCH-A210 internal samsung HD103SJ 1TB, hdmi:tv philips 32PFL8404H-12, installed: opkg, mpd, busybox, gzip PC: Vista, CSI, Notepad++, GMPC, remote gui's transmission, usb hdd with media backup Android smartphone: ConnectBot, BitMPC, Droided Media Tank, DroidMPD |

RE: transmission wont upload url
It appears the new transmission was interfering with the old one, which is now working again after uninstalling v2.5. It works well enough, not being able to enter a torrent address manually is no big deal, most files have both the magnet and normal download options.

RE: transmission wont upload url
It is not interfering with it, it is intentionally disabling it. You still haven't told how you're trying to access the new Transmission or why you think it's not working. You can't access the CSI transmission through the same means as the old ones. All new methods are explained in this thread.
You can also use Transmission Remote Gui which is installed on the local pc and can directly use magnet links. That also works for the default Tranmission. Explained in this thread. |

RE: transmission wont upload url
I can drag torrent files into the transmission head end which find the pch ok but the magnet links just open Utorrent which I also have on the pc. There was some option during the Transmission installation to make it the default for magnets, I didnt tick it as sometimes I want to open them with Utorrent. Is there a way to turn this option on and off in Transmission, I cant see any option in Utorrent?

Anyway, you can change the behaviour of clicking on magnet links in the settings of your browser. |

RE: transmission wont upload url
Hy, I have similar problems.
I have a Popcorn Hour A-110 with latest firmware update. These are the facts: If I test the .torrent via telnet on popcorn with /mnt/syb8634/bin/transmission-remote -a /share/bbads05e05Versione720p.torrent I receive localhost:8077 responded: "invalid or corrupt torrent file". I check this .torrent with "torrent check" downloaded from h__p://sourceforge.net/projects/torrentcheck/files/ and it seems ok. It is identified on this manner: C:\Users\marco\Downloads\torrentcheck-1.00>torrentcheck.exe -t "j:\bt\bbads05e05Versione720p.torrent" Torrent file : j:\bt\bbads05e05Versione720p.torrent Metadata info : 132373 bytes, 6588 pieces, 262144 bytes per piece Torrent name : Breaking.Bad.5x05.Rapina.al.treno.ITA-ENG.720p.DLMux.DD5.1.h264-DarkSideMux1.mkv Content info : single file, 1726911223 bytes Announce URL : udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce As another test I tried it on my pc with qBitTorrent and it is correctly identified and download starts. Any idea to use with popcorn? Is it possible to update the default Transmission software of my A-110? I tried also with Transmission Remote Gui without solutions. Any suggestions will be appreciated ,Marco |
