A-300 jukebox update question
Hi,
I have so far only tried the built in NMJ service. It would seem that I have to manually go into the jukebox manager in order to update when content has been added or removed. What I am wondering is what kind of solution is most suited for handling a dynamic library where things get added and removed quite often? From the reading I've done, it would seem that Oversight is the better on-PCH solution? Is there a server side solution that is particularly geared towards this kind of library? By server side I mean something for my Windows machine where my content shares reside. Any info regarding this would be appreciated. Regards V |

RE: A-300 jukebox update question
So rather than using your remote and selecting update and then browing and doing whatever you want you'd rather use an additional PC setup?
Have you selected Autmatic updating in Settings of NMJ? A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: A-300 jukebox update question
It sounds like he's using a windows machine like a nas already.
What tools do you use for you media, there might be some automatic scanning options available to trigger the nmj scanner from your windows pc as it's needed. yamj is also popular on this type of setup because it can't run on the pch but only needs to run when a change to your media library happens. |

I don't particularly mind having an additional PC setup, considering my machine is on 24/7. If it could monitor my shares and update the jukebox automatically that would be perfect. I'm looking for a configuration that (apart from the initial setup) will keep the jukebox updated with the least amount of effort. I do believe that automatic updating is selected, but I will have to verify this when I get home tonight. I mainly use HandBrake but I'm open to any suggestions. I did have a quick look at YAMJ but I had some trouble getting it up and running yesterday. Figured out that I need to include Eversion in to the process. I will give it another go tonight. |

RE: A-300 jukebox update question
I think there is a thread in the nmj forum somewhere on manually starting a scan from your pc.. just a url you need to it, you should be able to integrate that into your process of converting media.

RE: A-300 jukebox update question
Yeh it should be in Settings > Preferences from memory.
Actually no I think it may be within NMJ itself. Try also the Scan Option feature. Deselect AutoDownload fanart to stop it updating when you add content. Indeed the option is not in Settings > Preferences (Auto Start of NMJ is there). In NMJ Manager there is a Scan Option section. The options there are Auto Download Fanart (which I currently have enabled) and Scan Language (in this case English). I'm going to look into an external solution that will automatically invoke a update request when new (or removed) content is detected. I'm currently having some trouble figuring out the update request (it just comes back with result 22, as opposed to the desired 0). Once I have that sorted I will probably write a FolderMonitor to invoke the update when necessary. |
