SSD not recognized by PCH

Solid State Disk Transcend 2.5" IDE 32 GB not recognized by PCH-A100.

To get acquainted with things, I first tried an available IBM Travelstar DADA-25400 5.4 GB, jumper set to device 0, NTFS formatted hard disk, on the PCH without encountering problems. The PCH recognized it, I was able to set up a Samba server and upload a video file to the Travelstar from my pc.

Eventually I took the SSD, jumper set to master, NTFS formatted it the same way as the other hard disk, removed all power, took the Travelstar out and substituted it with the SSD.

But the PCH didn't recognize this SSD.

I then made a reset to PCH factory settings and tried again with the SSD, but it still doesn't appear on the tv screen as a media source.

PCH firmware 01-17-080612-15-POP-402-000, kernel version 15-POP.

Anyone ran into this and managed to cope?

Try changing the jumper to CS or slave. Is it this one:-

Its laptop size so I take it you have an adapter and have connected to the PCH power connector.

I have this Transcend CF card working in a CF adapter:-

Yes, that's the SSD, model TS32GSSD25-M.

Yes, I'm using the same RoLine 40/44 pin adapter as I used with the Travelstar. +5 V Power supplied from the PCH to the adapter.

Just like you suggested, the jumper setting did the magic. I moved the jumper on the Transcend SSD from Master to Cable Select whereupon the PCH on powering up had no problems finding the Solid State Disk. Thanks again for solving my problem.
