OK - A problem

1. .srt subtitles doesn't seem to be working. Pretty sure it was on the previous firmware.

Yes, the filenames are exactly the same, tried mkv's and avi, no good on both and yes, press the subtitle button to turn it on.

I can map a drive from my laptop to the A110 and play the mkv or avi using VLC and the subs work.

Can somebody confirm this or I'm I missing something here.....

When I press the subtitle button I get the lift, time, colour and doesn't matter which one, i still get no subs.

I don't know if this is firmware related but I noticed a few things:

- As with the post above subtitle with AVI's don't seem to be working (SRT)
- My remote control doesn't seem to be working from time to time

I noticed the following when the remote doesn't work I have put it right in front of the eye of the PCH and then it works. If I reapply the firmware for the PCH, the RC works perfectly from that moment on untill the next breakdown of response.
I had the issue now 3 times and the third time I tried a new approach and that is too go an watch movie because I didn't feel like reapplying the firmware again. Strangest thing was that after a few minutes watching a movie the RC started working again from a normal distance.

I also tried the usual stuff when I noticed this problem in the beginning:

- Warm reboot
- Cold reboot
- Resetting too factory settings
- Removing the part of the PCH that is front of the receiver eye for the RC
Nothing worked except reapplying the firmware or in the last case just go and watch a movie....

I have nothing placed next, under or on the PCH so there are no Magnetic fields interfering ....

If this is a firmware issue please fix this because it is pretty annoying

My preference was set to none, changed to english and saved, works for both mkv and avi's

Now when I select subtitle I get the ON[File] come up.

Thing is it was working before I upgraded. Anyway, all sorted.

i noticed that with this option on (preference set to english), then movies (video_ts folder with dvdfab ripping the main movie) with 1 subtitle, it shows the subtitle on screen. there is no way to turn it off.

sometimes i don't wanna see the subtitle, and i wanna manually turn it on, but with this option it always shows it. only way to turn off, is if there is 2 subtitles.

i hope this is the same issue as the subtitle bug in the firmware.

the upgrade crashed a few times for me (with usb) it kept freezing. I had to hard reboot (pulling the chord) every time.

Eventually after the 3rd time, it made it all the way through. so far I have formated the hd, threw two movies on it, it plays great, amazing quality. I know this can only get better, I expected this to be a ton of work . . . it is but its well worth it. Great product guys. Can't wait for the next firmware.

iam waiting for my a110 to come in and just reading on how to update via usb key..... do i need to run this file first NMT apps: 00-17-080808-15-POP-403
then the file? and when it says the root of the directory what does that mean?

You can do the update from the maintenance menu on the A110 its self... no need to mess about with usb drives then!

It would obviously need to be connected to the network/internet.

Based on some of the issues people have had after updating via Ethernet I'd use USB if I was you. Download the zip file, extract to your USB drive unticking the 'Use Folder Names' box, that will put them in the root of your USB drive (i.e. not in a folder), plug into PCH, go to USB drive, select the 4th icon on the right, select the usbupdate.html file and then select the link.

Loaded the Firmware update via the download page by USB thumb drive and BAM, my USB hub is working again and I'm able to map 3 external USB hard drives again.
My previously incompatable (but was compatable on my A-100), is now compatable again.

Just wanted to let eveyone know...
Still have lots of video testing to do but I will try to post an update on that later.

can u use winrar to unzip the file? that is what i have and dont see option unticking the 'use folder names'

You can extract them using Winrar, not sure about the 'use folder names' as that's from Winzip. Just extract to your USB drive, go into your USB drive and move all the files into the root.

ok i got winzip and extracted the files by them self to my usb key....now i also see that theme.zip did not extract by itself,should i also extract in the same place as the rest of the files?
