Only option is powercycle.
This mode is to make a cleen shutdown of the operatingsystem before you pull the plug. Normally you should use the ordinart standby function. /Snutten |

Normal Standby still make a light noise plus it generates heat therefor uses power which is not acceptable.
Is there no other way round besides puling the plug? |

Well, hacking it can let you do it, but right now there seem to be no other way that to pull the plug.
I suggest you make a feature request. Perhaps Syabas can focus on a "green" firmware-release in the near future. Synology is doing that right now for their NAS series, making sure that the software does it's best to keep the power consumption (and thus heat generation) to a minimum. I think the processor and all electronics is shutdown. Therefore it wont respond to any Remote codes sent to it and the unit dont have any buttons. hmm. /Snutten |

I have only seen the unit in action at a friend, mine is still in pre-order, so of course I cannot be sure.
But if there is anything controllable left on that generates noise and heat, it should be able to shut down. What is it that make hurgaxls unit noisy and heated if not some electronics? Horny mice? Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

[PH] In standby, if HDD still make a light nouse, this means NAS or BT function still at work. Seems like we start getting requests about deeper standby mode, like totally shutdown HDD (means shutdown NAS, media server and BT functions) when in standby, I will discuss with Syabas folks on this possibility.
