Connect USB to NMT and play MKV's
Does anyone has experience with playing video content (like mkv's) from USB stick connected to a Popcorn Hour A-110? Mine keeps freezing after playing a few minutes. After retry same file freezing happens at the same timestamp. Anyone had the same problem and solved it?

RE: Connect USB to NMT and play MKV's
have you tried other MKV's?
Have you tried another usb stick?

could be either the mkv is a corrupted file, or the usb stick has some errors on it.
try playing the MKV on your computer at that time stamp and look for any problems.

Yes, I have tried several mkv's. They freeze at random times each. But each mkv freezes at exactly the same timestamp. So one always stops at 05:34 another at 12:13 minutes.
I have tried another USB stick (2GB). I can not put mkv's on this because my mkv-files are at least 7GB. But from this USB-stick anything is playing without freezing!
The USB stick I would like to use is a brand new Sony 64GB. Perhaps the size is the problem. On this one I have to use EXT2 file system to use it for large files, bigger dan 4GB (FAT32 limit). Is the size or file system of this large USB stick the problem?

You could try other file systems, NTFS will support files large enough.

if the timestamp difference between the two file corresponds with the bitrate difference it is probably failing at the same point in memory.
could be two things that memory is "bad" at that point or the EXT2 support is not fully tested. Try formatting it in NTFS as you only want to read from it on the PCH anyway....
if the 2 files fail again you have a interesting support call with Sony Corp.

PCH-A100/A210/C200/A400 500GB EXT3 HDD<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10
13 NTFS USB drives on 3 hubs attached to the A300, 3 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB

The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box

I think I have figured it out:
This memory stick I have bought on ebay from a german seller directly shipping from China. Now I know they are producing fake memory sticks over there. I am pretty sure because 65 euros is a price you could expect things like a FAKE memory stick. I feel so stupid Angry

Anyway, thanks for your help

RE: Connect USB to NMT and play MKV's
Just filed a PayPal claim for this.
Selling fakes is against any PayPal/eBay policy.
I am pretty sure I will get my money back Tongue
Lesson learned!
