Subtitles in Transport Stream (TS or M2TS)

So with a lot of digging and sweat I managed to extract subtitles from an HD DVD and mux them in a TS stream (through TsMuxer). Played it with great expectation. No subtitles.

Did a little more digging, found out that the NMT doesn't support PGS (image) subtitles (grumble grumble).

So, I OCRed the images to SRT and remuxed. Still no subtitles. So does the NMT not support subtitles in a TS stream at all? Anybody had any luck with this?
