Havent had my invoice from DHL but I believe its about £32 for the UK. Euro taxes should be 14% plus VAT of your country. You are being well overcharged!

DHL sweden,
I got my PH yesterday, and all I had to pay was tax, 25%, or 369 swedish kronors = 33 Euro.
Sounds like DHL is corrupted in spain. DHL is supposed to be "worldwide" freight with worldwide pricing. Fight it!! 137 euro is a fucking rip off! |

Got my bill from DHL in the post today. The PCH was delivered before Christmas last year, and there was no note about it having a charge to pay, but I was half-expecting to receive an invoice, and don't feel too bad about paying VAT. I'd have to pay it if I'd bought it in Europe or the UK after all.
I've only been charged GBP£ 19.075 in UK VAT at 17.5% + a GBP £1.25 admin charge. That is about GBP£20, or about EUR€27 / US$40. Haven't been stung for any import duty - just the VAT. |

Just pay the VAT (very annoying tax) and forget the extra charge.
If you then get a dunning letter ask for legal documents that oblige you to pay that charge. I doubt that there is such a legal background, since you are just the recipient and not the client who gave the order! I went though that a few times. They (UPS, DHL) newer went back with any documents nor claimed the extra charge again. |

I'm in Barcelona too, but I ordered mine through Mpcclub buyin so it will be coming through the Netherlands, so I won't be stung with extra costs.
All in all mine was 239€ but at least this includes warranty and support from the NL instead of from China. When I shipped my SVS Subwoofer here from the US, I only paid 115€ import duty and that was a $1250 subwoofer, so I have no idea how they calculate these taxes. |

That is crazy, speak to a manager, product cost plus duty + VAT will be about €50 max, the admin charge in the UK was £1.25 (thats about €2)
Crazy. |

I'm in Australia and I got a custom check bill from DHL for AUD$47 so heaps less than what you got stuck with so gave me some perspective but it's still a rort. DHL wrapping was ripped open and stuck back together with a tonne of tape and the box inside was pushed in on one side.
Good thing for me is I have already received it so not sure what they can do to make me pay. I'll give them a call and see what they say but really can't see my motivation in paying. At no time did I agree to additional charges. Rob |

I'm based in Barcelona, but I've ordered through nuforce.com and it states "International order will be shipped by US Post Office Global Priority mail. Expect 10 days for delivery.".
I guess that says it avoids DHL, but it will avoid custom tax? This sucks. |

If you're in Barcelona and you get the package slip for the Correos telling you that you need to go to the Main Post Office down by the Port instead of your local Post Office guess what??? You have to pay taxes.
I've had quite a few things shipped through the US Mail and only had to pay taxes once. Being that the value is rather low your odds of paying taxes are low. |

here in canada there are several options that can be done.
1) get your own customs/brokerage firm to actually take care of the duties and border crossing through customers for you and they bill you later in the mail 2) have fedex/purolator/ups curior take care ofthe whole thing for you and bill you after the fact through the mail via letter bill. (this is charged to the address no tthe name, as they dont have anything other than name and address to bill to, thus doesnt need to be paid as promptly as other charges, just cant do this numerous time sor they wont do it anymore for your address and name combination) 3) DHL does things differently than them all and I beileve make you pay the delivery guy, DHL doesnt have much business at all in my area, they suck compared to rest, just really really fast at worldwide shipments. most companies other than fedex and purolator that courier into the country use either SAMEDAY-RITEOWAY curiour or UPS to take from their trucks to customers. From experience anyways this is what I have found over the numerou years importing and exporting things. never has it EVER been something compared to what you are saying being that high of a percentage of the order. usually the duty is a fee percentage of the actual package value, which is stated on the customs slip placed on the package upon shipment. MAX 20% is all i have ever paid EVER. |
