Are you guys any closer to getting this feature going (DTS downmixing).
this was the main reason i upgraded to the A-110  A date would be useful Thanks |

Yes next firmware release.
The firmware is released first in beta, then Release Candidate, then as a final stable release. It has to pass the beta testing team through the beta and RC stages and also Syabas QA. The current status is that we have yesterday got RC4 for testing. If that makes it past the beta testing team and Syabas QA then it will become a stable firmware for the A100. Further work is required to port this to the A110 and add things like DTS stereo which the A100 doesn't have. If it fails the beta testing then a further RC release is required adding 7-10 days per each additional RC release. That is why it is impossible to give exact timings for a release. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

As we know, the final versions have a huge number of bugs and problems.
Just release a version with DTS. It's really can't be any worse than it already is. All your going to do is give us something thats been untested. Going by the last final version on the A-110 I would say it hasn't been tested very well. Maybe it's time to let the owners do the testing. It would get tested a lot quicker and by a lot more people. You must be the only people since the web started to not offer beta's. Even the big boys like NVidia and ATI(or whoever they are now) who deal with such a non standard arena like PC's and windows give beta's. People try it, if they don't work they yap about it then either move on or revert back to a more stable release. Just release the BETA's already! We have all paid our money, now give us our goods!!! |
